Crime levels in Bulgaria in most towns and cities, as well as Sofia are much lower, by comparison with the UK, EU or major world cities. Many major international holiday companies have placed Bulgaria as a favorite for family package holiday destinations. Bulgarian national currency lev (BGN) is stable. Property taxes are significantly lower than those in the West.
