Bulgarian Rose

The Valley of the Roses occupies 780 km² in the geographical centre of Bulgaria. It owes its name to the vast fields of oleaginous roses which have been grown here since the 18C. Thanks to the favourable climate and the ingenuity of the local people, the rose-oil produced here is of superb quality and is appreciated by the world's most renowned perfume companies.

The valley is particularly attractive during the rose-blooming season (from the end of May to mid-June) when the visitors can enjoy the fragrance of roses filling the air, see the pickers work in the early morning, feel the unique atmosphere of this place.
